Where were you (Physically, Mentally, and Emotionally, etc.) when you started attending group classes at Unexpected warriors?

I was out of Shape, scared for my health and faking my confidence before I came to the group classes.

Where are you now?

I am in much better shape, Honestly, I am shocked by my ability to do the workouts at the gym and how far I have come. I am no longer scared for my health. I feel healthier than I have been in a long time. I am working on my confidence. I feel like I can try things I would never have tried before.

What is the best part of Group Classes at Unexpected Warriors?

There is so much…I love the encouragement from Laura and the support of the other ladies. I also Love that it is 2 hours a week that I put myself first. I really make that a priority. I also love that it gives me the confidence at the gym to push myself. Getting to know the other women at the group class.

How do you think differently now about fitness from when you began your journey with me?

Honestly, I did not think about Fitness for a long time. I was active and athletic when I was younger but when I got older it was not even a small focus. Now I do think about it a lot and I actually enjoy going to the group class and seeing what I can do there and I make my health and fitness journey a priority.

Do you have a cool story about training at Unexpected warriors that you can recall being helpful to you or created a breakthrough?

My daughters forced me to come with them when I first started. I was very self-conscious about going because I had not exercised in probably 25+ years and I Never had even considered going to a class. All of my exercise came from playing sports when I was younger. and now I have the confidence to go to the group class by myself and that took a lot for me!

Jennie’s weight-loss journey began prior to her attending group fitness classes at Unexpected Warriors. Since adding strength training at our Group Fitness Classes, she has continued to improve her health, fitness, overall strength and well being even more!
